Teaching

Sinyu Tsang is an experienced piano and theory teacher based in Richmond, BC (Greater Vancouver). She garnered a reputation for her diverse teaching methods and enthusiasm. Ms Tsang’s teaching focuses on building a strong foundation and on musicality while helping her students to unleash their creativity and full potential. She makes up individualized study plans for students, incorporating diverse musical genres and art appreciation.

 

Students develop their interest and boost self-confidence through interactive and performance-based learning. Most of her students proceeded to higher attainment and were also awarded in competitions and public exams. Recently, one of her students has been awarded Trinity College London’s Diploma in Music Performance (ATCL) with Distinction. Ms Tsang’s students ranged from beginner to diploma level, she is a professional in teaching the RCM, ABRSM and Trinity syllabuses.

 

Biography

 

Sinyu Tsang holds a Master of Arts Degree in Music(M. A.). She devotes her passion and creativity for music through teaching, performances and compositions. After receiving the Diploma of the Royal Schools of Music (DipABRSM) in piano performance, she has been teaching piano lessons since 2010 privately and in the ICQM Primary and Secondary School. 

 

In her performance career, she appeared as a soloist in piano recitals and public events. In 2003, she was awarded the First Prize at the Kingsburg Cup Piano Competition. As an accompanist, she helps other instrumentalists and vocalists for exams, music festivals, and music competitions. Some of her students achieved excellent results and received awards. For over 10 years, she has served the church to accompany and rearrange hymns for Sunday worship and worked with ensembles.


Besides, Ms Tsang had other experiences related to music. She composed music and worked on sound designs for award-winning short films and commercials. Also, she is a sound artist who participated in local and international art festivals, including Experimentica 2012: Unseen, Chapter, UK. In 2017, she had her first solo exhibition in Hong Kong, supported by Soundpocket. Her eclectic musical tastes and deep listening practice allows her to inspire and get the best out of her students.
